The New White

Nails Inc The New White: White Horse Streets

Two weeks ago as I strolled the makeup aisle of David Jones I stumbled across a new range of white polishes from Nails Inc. This collection consists of four pale polishes with a creme finish. Being a pastel lover of course this display caught my attention. There are four shades in the line but I only picked one because at 27 dollars a bottle, it is not cheap.

Topshop Nails in Blue Rinse

topshop blue rinse

In one of my previous post I admitted that blue polishes dominate my collection. What can I say I love blues and I cannot stop buying blue polishes especially in creme finishes. I spotted this in Topshop about a month ago before finally decided to pick it up and I have no regrets.

Butter London Nail Foundation

Butter London Nail Foundation Base Coat
Butter London Nail Foundation
I just finished a bottle of this so I'm sure I can give you my solid thoughts on this one. Butter London Nail Foundation is a base coat that has a sheer peach tint to it with a matte finish. This one costs a bit more than regular Butter London polishes, if you live in Australia,  this will cost you $26.95. However, a slight increase in price can be justified as you get a generous 17.5 ml of product. Picture shown is one coat of Nail Foundation over bare nails.

The texture of this is slightly thick. I do like this one when worn alone; it is a perfect my nails but better polish and it is not streaky at all, even on the first coat. As a base coat, honestly I think it's not bad. I don't see a big difference in terms of longevity of my mani. In terms of preventing stains, it's not the best but it does a decent job at it. However, I read some people actually like this base coat. The only thing that annoys me out of this is its drying time. I expect my base coat to fully dry by the time I finish painting all of my nails. Will I repurchase this? No as I've tried better. However I do recommend this one for people who wants a natural nail look.

Have you tried this? Do you like this base coat?

That Moment When You Stumbled Across Great Polish at the Drugstore

Essence Purple Sugar
This past two weeks have been insane for me! My whole week is loaded with assignments and essays and presentations and all that. Anyway I am back! Today I just have to share this beautiful pinky purple creme polish from Essence with you!

This stuff cost me less than $3AUD!!! So affordable and I just love how it looks! As with all Essence polishes, they have this beautiful wide brush that's slightly rounded to hug cuticles nicely and it's opaque with only 2 coats. Even though not marketed as a fast-drying polish, I find this polish dries pretty quickly between coats. If you manage to find it in your local Target or Priceline, I really suggest that you pick it up. For less than 3 dollars, you won't regret it!

Pink Neutral Nails

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Shell we Dance

A quick post today. Just want to share what nail polish I've been wearing lately. This is Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Shell we Dance. This is a pale sheer pink nail polish that is perfect for french manicure. It is also amazing on its own to give that 'your nails but better' look. With this one, you cannot expect to get full opacity tho. I think this colour is perfect for work and holidays as it will match everything you wear whatever the season. Nude nails are always in!

Revlon Parfumerie in Orange Blossom

If you've been here for a while you know that I am obsessed with Revlon parfumerie collection.  Today we're talking about Orange Blossom; a bright orange creme polish. I'm not going to talk about formula as I find the quality is the same with all polish from this range. Read my review herehere and here. Initially I bought this for nail art purposes although when worn alone it is beautiful and just summer appropriate. To be honest, I find this one has the strongest scent of all five that I own. It has this sweet citrus-y scent. I've used this several times on one of my finger and sometimes mixed with other polish to do my nail art and I can still notice the scent of this. Overall, another great buy from Revlon.

Current Favourite Top Coat

I've used this topcoat for several months now and I can say this is my new favourite top coat! Essie Good to Go promises a fast drying result with high gloss finish and I completely agree with their claim. The drying time is not as quick as poshé topcoat which I previously used, but is still quicker than other fast-drying topcoat that I've tried. I also notice that it makes my mani stays chip-free for longer, although keep in mind that performance is different from polish to polish. As a nail art enthusiast, I find that this topcoat is really nice as it does not drag design and they help even out bumpy designs. What I mean with bumpy is when you put on glitter topcoat or you layer a lot of colours that your nail thickness is different.

Now the issue with most fast drying topcoat is that they often shrinks your manicure! I've tried several that do exactly that and it really bothers me. It is useless if they have amazing staying power but they just shrink your mani. However, I didn't notice any with this topcoat, my mani stays fresh for a good couple of days. Overall, I have to say this is my new favourite top coat and will continue to repurchase.

YSL La Laque Couture in Bleu Celadon

YSL La Laque Couture #50 Bleu Celadon

So excited to finally have a high end polish in my stash. This polish is from YSL summer 2014 collection (and I heard it is limited edition) and trust me this gem is damn hard to find. Bleu Celadon is a light blue creme polish, sounds like there's nothing special about it eh? However, I find this colour is one of a kind, it still manages to be soft but not too pale, and it also have a bit of minty-ness to it, so at different lighting it looks more mint than blue.

Revlon Parfumerie in Wild Violets

Revlon Parfumerie: Wild Violets

So I have been away for about a month and I'm finally back! During my vacation I didn't bring any nail polishes at all and I miss my bottles of happiness. Honestly, first thing I do after I got back is open my drawer of polishes and look at it. Well, I have several scheduled posts to go up while I'm on my vacation, but when I look at it, it's just not good enough.

Anyway, today I'm back and I will be reviewing another Revlon parfumerie polish. This is my fourth post about this range of polishes. The quality is the same as with all parfumerie polishes. Thin and watery but still nicely pigmented. I would describe this polish as a shimmery deep purple polish. Nothing really out of this world regarding the color. Now let's talk about the scent! It has a sweet powdery scent. I have a love/hate relationship with the scent, sometimes I love it and can't stop sniffing my nails and other times I hate it.

Overall, still a nice addition to my polish collection. Do you like this polish? Let me know!

A Little Hand Cream Love

As of late, I've been using this hand cream non-stop before bed (and sometimes during the day). It has been my go to for months now and I have no idea why I never mention this in a post. Say hello to Burt's Bees Almond Milk Beeswax Hand Cream.

O.P.I Crystal Nail File

When it comes to nail care, I don't own a lot of fancy tools and potions as I find more tools in the market is not doing my nails any good in the long term. But we all agree that a girl needs to have a nail file handy to keep their nails looking neat everytime. Today we're talking about O.P.I Crystal File that has been my go to nail file for over two years now.

Addicted to Nudes?

Thanks to Anna from viviannadoesmakeup for influencing this purchase and I have no regrets. Today, we are going to talk about Rimmel Salon Pro polishes in Oh Mr Darcy (cute name). I don't know why, even though I mentioned that I have found my perfect nude polish, I am still drawn into buying new nude polishes. I have bought several more nude polishes and for the past few weeks, I've been painting my nails with mostly nudes.

Swatch and Review: Revlon Parfumerie in Balsam Fir

Now I had this polish for about 2-3 months now but haven't actually make a review. Reason being because I don't know what to feel about this.  Balsam Fir is a bright camo green creme polish with a sweet pine scent. First, let's talk formula. Just like other parfumerie polishes, this polish has a runny consistency. I kinda like it because it makes application non-streaky. The scent... To me it smells like a fresh and sweet pine tree scent, really reminiscence of christmas. I know people will like it but personally, I'm just okay with it. To me the scent reminds me of pine floor cleaner and it is quite strong.

Now let's talk cons. If you've been reading my blog, you know I love my two previous parfumerie polishes. As for this one I have slight issue with bubbling. But it's nothing that cannot be fixed with a good layer of topcoat. Now, my main complain is the staying power. Without top coat you will definitely chip within a day. Even with top coat it doesn't seem to make much difference. Plus, make sure to use your base coat when wearing this as it will stain your nails quite a bit. For the purpose of this post, I'm too lazy to put on my base coat and it's only on my nails for about an hour. And when I removed it my nails are slightly green (yuck). So to sum up, I'm just okay with this polish. I don't hate it but I don't love it either. I'll keep it and definitely make some use of it to do some nail art.

So overall what do you think of this range? Are you going to pick up one? If you already have one, what are your thoughts?

Picture Polish Limited Edition Polish in Gravity

Today I have a beautiful polish to share with you. It is Picture Polish's Gravity. Now, gravity is one of PP limited edition shades consisting of five multi-chrome polishes. Unfortunately this particular shade is already sold out on their website. They have some international resellers so definitely check them outto see whether it is still available.

Gravity is very sheer in the bottle, so you definitely have to layer it over black to get a vibrant look. This shade is crazy! It's a multi-chrome of blue, purple, and pink with fine glitters. I have nothing much to say. I am seriously impressed with this. I actually like to call it an instant galaxy nails. We all know galaxy nails are very pretty but is quite troublesome to make. Picture shown is one coat of Gravity over black.

What do you guys think? Do you manage to snatch this shade? Or any other PP LE shades? Let me know in the comments below.

February 21, 2014

So as promised, I have another Revlon Parfumerie nail polish to show to you guys. In previous post I gave a big thumbs up, let's see if this one is as good.

This one is called Wintermint. It is a shimmery mint green polish with micro silver glitters and bigger blue glitters. I remember I wanted Deborah Lippman's Mermaid's Dream few years ago but I can't get Deborah Lippman anywhere near me. So when I saw this, I am very excited because it looks exactly the same like it. However is it a dupe or not? I can't tell since I don't own DL ones. Whether it is a dupe or not, I really like how it turns out.

Now, let's talk formula. Again this polish has a more watery consistency. As for me? I prefer more watery formula on shimmer/glittery polishes and thicker consistency on creme polishes. Why? I just do. Application was a breeze, the thin brush really helps in fixing small areas. Just like 'Beachy', the combination of watery consistency and small brush in this polish is really nice. I think it is also worth mentioning, some people think it is quite hard to distribute the glitters evenly across the nails. If this happens to you just dab the brush to areas that needs more glitter and spread it across.
This polish has a thin brush
As for the scent, I think the name defines it all. It smells like peppermint. I love peppermint everything, so totally thumbs up from me. I am pretty sure this one has stronger scent than 'Beachy'. This time around, I wear topcoat and of course the smell is not as strong as without topcoat.

Overall, I really like this polish. Nothing bad I can say about it. The added perfume is such a nice bonus. Now I am thinking to go out and get some more.

So what do you guys think?

NOTD: Revlon Perfumerie Collection in Beachy

I went to Target yesterday and they have the best promotion going on. Revlon nail polishes 2 for the price of 1!!!! So of course I have to get it. Now, scented nail polishes are not new in the beauty world, for some reason I have never been interested in purchasing one; I think they are disgusting. However, this one is an exception. Firstly, look at the packaging! It's super cute. When I first saw it I thought it is a real perfume. Secondly, they have a nice selection of colours. Third, the scent is just... different. It ranges from sweets & spices, fruits & florals to fresh.

Anyway, I got this colour called 'Beachy', it is a pretty bronzy gold colour and I have nothing like this in my collection. I am a big fan of a big fanned out brushes, as my nails are quite big so fatter brushes really helps. However, this one comes with a skinny brush, so I am quite disappointed. The polish itself is more on the watery side. However, for this polish I think the combo of skinny brush and watery polish is what makes this polish very easy to apply. I did this mani last night with poor lightning, woke up and I was like 'wow, my nails look good!' Pigmentation is very good. I wear two coats for pictures above. Drying time is pretty quick as well, for this mani I don't wear any fast-drying topcoat and it only needs around 30 minutes to dry completely. My only issues with this polish is bubbling, it's not too apparent though, so it's just a minor issues for me. You can see it the bubbling issue on my second picture especially on my pinky finger.

Scent wise, this polish is in the 'fresh' group. Sniffing the polish straight from the bottle is a bad idea, I actually think it smells more chemical-y than my other polishes. As stated by revlon the scents can only be revealed when polish is dry. I wear no top coat because when you do I think the smell won't be so apparent. After it's dry the scent is faint ( but you know it's there. It smells sweet, fresh and very summery. I have to literally sniff my nails in order to smell it, and now I am sniffing my nails because it smells so good.

So if you think by wearing this polish, you don't have to wear any perfume because your whole body will smell good, definitely no. In order to smell any, you have to really sniff your nails. If you're like me who can't bear very strong scent this is definitely worth trying.

Overall, I think you should give this one a go. Despite the fact that you like the added perfume or not, this is a very good quality polish. I can't give you my overall thoughts on this collection, because I only have two of this polishes. A review for the other one coming soon, so stay tuned. However, I really like this polish. So the question is, is it worth checking out? Definitely YES!

What are your thoughts on this one? Do you have it? Do you like it as much as I do? Will you get it after reading this?

NOTD: Sally Hansen Fuzzy Coat in Tight Knit

I am crazy about Sally Hansen Fuzzy Coat range! I think they are so amazing! Super pretty, easy to work with and also affordable. Every time I wear it people would go "ooh I love your nails! Are those real nails?" I did a review about it here and you should check it out! What started from two fuzzy coat grew to four fuzzy coat and in the future I might get the whole range.

IMG_3596

IMG_3611

The shade I'm wearing is Tight Knit, an explosion of matte blue and white bar. It is beautiful, it looks totally high fashion over black. I think it looks expensive. Formula is great just like any other Sally Hansen polishes. It is super easy to apply. Note that when applying glitter topcoat do not swipe your brush! Simply dab it on your nails.

I prefer layering fuzzy coat over another colour. Why? The only problem with fuzzy coat is that it takes almost forever to dry and to get full opacity you need at least three coats and after that you will see your nails will become so much thicker. I am not one of those patient person that can wait until my nails are totally dry, I love nail polish but I'm just not that person who like to sit still and wait until it dries. Which is why a good fast drying topcoat is a must for me! That's the only downside but apart from that, this is amazing! Go to your nearest drugstore now and definitely try them out if you haven't.

Swatch and Review: Sally Hansen Fuzzy Coat in Fuzz-Sea and All Yarned Up

IMG_2934

So let's make this the last post of the day. Usually I don't really buy glitters or flakie polishes simply because I hate removing them, even with foils. I bought them only if they are really pretty. Pick up these beauties last week from Priceline. Finally I found these babies in Australia! Actually I'm aiming for Nails inc 'Feathers effect' polishes but seriously cannot get them online. When I found one it's either the shipping price is just insane or it doesn't ship too Australia (boo!). So excited to finally found these; they could be a dupe of Nails inc's but since I don't own one I can't really say. There areI pick up these two named 'All Yarned Up' and 'Fuzz-Sea'.

IMG_2927

This range of polishes from SH is just a clear polish loaded with colourful stripes. The picture above is Fuzz-Sea which is loaded with yellow and blue stripes. The polish itself is very thick and it's jam packed with the stripes so three easy coats are enough to cover my whole nails. I love this polish and it dries on my nails pretty quickly. It looks fresh and pretty.

IMG_2969

Next one is 'All Yarned Up', I have to be honest, this is my favourite from the whole range. It is loaded with blue, yellow and orange coloured stripes. Just like Fuzz-Sea, the application was easy and it looks super cute. Both pics I used three coats.

What do you guys think? How do you like to wear it? Cover your whole nail or just one easy coat?

Favorite Polishes

OK! so this post is inspired from a page of my 'Wreck this Journal'. I loved this book a lot I spent a lot of time working on it and I had a lot of fun with it. If you see my Instagram (@septhyneriadi) you will see a lot of pics from my WTJ. There's this stain log page on the last few pages of this book and I've seen a lot of people putting their favourite nail polishes on this page and I was like 'why not?'. Nail polish have been my obsession for about a year and half now. I got 42 polishes and counting. I know a lot of people could have 10 times more than I do but since I have this page right now, so might as well just do it.Image

Yes, these sixteen polishes are my favourites. However, I love all my nail polishes equally. To be honest, there are some colours that I omit because they did not go well with other colours so... But I put my top five polishes up and that's what I want to discuss in this blog. It's gonna be a very long post if I discuss all 16 of them. And orders aren't necessarily mean they are on top of the list. As I said I love them all equally. Sorry that I can't post a swatch of them one by one.

SONY DSC

First one is from Cirque called 'Tibetan Nights'. I've done a review and swatch of this polish in my previous post. If you read it you know how much I love this colour. This polish is gorgeous on its own.

SONY DSC

Next up is from O.P.I's Designer collection. This beauty is called 'DS Magic'. Bought it on impulse from David Jones and until now it's still one of my favourite polishes. It's super beautiful when worn; a duochrome of blue and purple with shimmer super beautiful. I've tried capturing the beauty of this but sorry, my photography skill is not so good so it looks just like normal polish in pictures. But people, trust me this is a gorgeous polish O.P.I's designer series are slightly more expensive than their regular ones but hey it's worth it!

SONY DSC

Next up is Butter London's Cheeky Chops. I think yellow is the perfect colour for my skin tone. So yeah, a yellow polish is a must have for me. Actually I just got this a week ago and haven't swatch it I've used up my previous polishes from O.P.I. I've worn this once just to try it out but haven't actually rock it. So many polishes not enough fingers.

SONY DSC

By now you'll know I love blue, because next polish is from Picture Polish, it is called 'Tiffany'. I've been looking forever for a polish that looks like Tiffany and Co box but had no luck. I've tried a lot of shades from different brands but yeah. I'm so happy to finally found one. Plus this one is also the first indie polish I own and I'm happy about the quality and the colour.

SONY DSC

I used this polish in my previous post for a tribal themed mani. This is Lime Crime's 'Pastelchio'. Usually I'm not so big on green coloured polish but I just can't resist this one! Look at the packaging! Darn cute! and the colour is amazing. Too bad it comes in a small bottle

Do you own any of these? what do you guys think?
