Topshop Nails in Blue Rinse

topshop blue rinse

In one of my previous post I admitted that blue polishes dominate my collection. What can I say I love blues and I cannot stop buying blue polishes especially in creme finishes. I spotted this in Topshop about a month ago before finally decided to pick it up and I have no regrets.

Blue Me Away

Blue Ombre Nails

Last time I checked, blue creme polishes dominate my stash and knowing that I still cannot stop buying them. What can I say? I love blues! So I decided to create an ombre nails from purply blue to minty blue. I absolutely love the way it came out. Oh I also take it up a notch by adding O.P.I Matte Top Coat.

Polish used (pinky-thumb): Essence absolutely blue, Essie Rock the Boat, Essie Mint Candy Apple, Picture Polish Tiffany, Essie Turquoise and Caicos

I should have...

Essie Mint Candy Apple
I should have bought Essie Mint Candy Apple years ago! I first spotted this baby about three years ago but decided to pass because I have so many similar colour in my collection. I know this one is a cult item, everyone loves them and I can see this colour suit a myriad of different skin tones. Finally decided to splurge a bit on it few days ago, since Priceline is having $4 off all Essie nail polish.

YSL La Laque Couture in Bleu Celadon

YSL La Laque Couture #50 Bleu Celadon

So excited to finally have a high end polish in my stash. This polish is from YSL summer 2014 collection (and I heard it is limited edition) and trust me this gem is damn hard to find. Bleu Celadon is a light blue creme polish, sounds like there's nothing special about it eh? However, I find this colour is one of a kind, it still manages to be soft but not too pale, and it also have a bit of minty-ness to it, so at different lighting it looks more mint than blue.

NOTD: Mattified Essie 'Rock the Boat' and Sally Hansen Fuzzy Coat 'Wool Lite'

So today I'm back with a very pastel-y and spring-y polish combo. I know it's autumn here, but pastel and brights for spring are currently the trend all over the world. I'm also not that kind of person who always follow the trend; I wear whatever I want (I'm rebellious like that).

For the base, I use Essie 'Rock the Boat', which is a pastel lavender-ish blue with periwinkle glitter shimmer to it. However, I find the shimmery effect is not very apparent, however it is a very pretty pastel nail polish. Goes on pretty sheer and patchy in the first coat, but evened out after three coats. Not the kind of formula I favour the most but it's manageable. Even though it is very pretty I don't think it suits my skin tone, so I have to do something with it.

For the top, I use Sally Hansen 'Wool Lite' which is a matte pink and white bar glitter in a clear base. There was a time where I'm crazy about Sally Hansen's Fuzzy Coat range. I still find them pretty though, it's just that they thicken up really quickly, I have one that I have to throw away because it gets really thick and unusable (sad). This one does get thicker so it's kinda hard to use, but still manageable.

Anyway, hope you guys enjoy my NOTD post. What do you think of this combo?

NOTD: Alice in Wonderland Mani

Hey everyone! Today's mani is inspired from this cute pen I bought on eBay. I never actually bought a cute looking pen. I find that they are a complete waste of money. Usually they have a crappy quality and is not comfortable to write with. But I am in super in love with this pen and I just knew I have to get it! If you are interested with this pen, just search for 'Alice in Wonderland ballpoint pen' on eBay. I forgot from which seller I got this from and items on eBay just come and go, so...

The pen is super adorable right? It has two colour black and blue. I am already inspired to recreate this pen on my nails for so long, but since I blended my nails like 2 months ago, I decided to wait until my nails are grown to finally do this.

Anyways, what do you guys think?

Leave me a comment, like this post and don't forget to follow! Thanks

Pastel Triangle Tips

Hey! So I've been pretty busy lately and most of my nail pics are posted to instagram (simply because they are easier. This one is like 1 or 2 months ago when spring is still in season  (although it is autumn in Australia).Image

This is also the first ever mani I did using the help of scotch tape. Usually I have no patience whatsoever to wait until the base color is dry and use the tape so I usually ended up with messing up my mani. For this, the idea kinda came a day after I apply the base color. It is a beautiful baby blue color from Ciate called 'ferris wheel'. For the triangle I used Picture Polish's 'Tiffany' and the pink lining is 'French Affair' from Essie. For added effect I mattified this mani with my favorite Rimmel's Matte Top Coat.

So what do you guys think?

Blue Ombre mani

Hey I know I haven't post anything for a while and I did a few nail art I haven't share. So yeah this one is just a simple blue ombre mani that I really like! I'm happy as to how it turned out

Image

Usually I only use two colors to do ombre but for this mani I used four and I think only three colors can be seen. I don't know.

Swatch and Review: Cirque's Tibetan Nights

Hey guys! So yesterday finally my order from cirque arrived YEAY! I fell in love with what's in the bottle instantly and wipe off my mani to put this on. This polish is also kinda my first indie polish I own and I would love to try other indie brands (but money is kinda tight right now). But from the picture below can you see the amazingness in a small bottle?Image

As you can see, it is a dark blue jelly polish with small glitters. Looks so pretty right? Application was very easy like REALLY VERY EASY. Sorry I just can't chill I love it that much. No streak, no bubbles and best part is it dries super quickly.

Image

To me, the outcome is also very pretty and it becomes opaque in two coats. Definitely loving this.

Quick update: I usually only wear polish for about two days. But this one is just so adorable and I wore it for about five days. During those five days I didn't notice any chipping whatsoever. A very good quality polish! I am using the usual opi base coat and sally hansen top coat

Review: Revlon Whimsical

IMG_2312

OK! Maybe this polish is not something new. I mean it caused quite a stir in nail polish world like end of last year (I guess) for its likeness to Deborah Lippman's "Glitter in the Air". When I came across this when I was back in Indonesia I knew I have to get it.  At first I did not find this polish as wowza pretty but hey I gave it a go anyway. Turns out I kinda like it. It's been sitting nicely on my nails for about four days now and usually nail polish only stays on my nails for about 2 days. Anyway the blue base color used is The Face Shop's.

This polish came in sheer blue base, you cannot see anything if you do not wear any base color. The glitters are hex blue and pink with smaller glitters. Anyway, in terms of formula I've never been a big fan of Revlon. They bubble like crazy!!! I've never had issues with bubbling seriously but with this God I got a lot! The glitters also slide easily during application and I figured it is better to stamp it rather than swiping it.  Despite the ugly bottle, I hate the brush. It is thin and somehow very hard to apply. Anyway, it came out nicely on my nails and I kinda like it. Despite my bad review here, it is a nice color and a good investment anyhow. I used three coats on the picture above.

Ciate Caviar Manicure in Cotton Candy

Hey guys! I posted a pic of Ciate Caviar Manicure set I bought and I've been very busy that I don't have time to try it on. I am so excited to finally get my hands on this legendary 3d manicure. So, here goes.

Image

I had a great time putting it on my nails. It was so easy and fun and the result is just breathtaking. However, I had issue with this mani lasting power. I read other blogs and some of them saying it just came off right away. Well, my issue with this is not as drastic but yeah the beads keep on falling. By the time I woke up my bed is full of this caviar beads. I can't stand it and wipe it off right away. I am afraid I might swallow it somehow hahaha. My suggestion is that to keep this mani for some special events but not for daily wear.
