The Negative Space

I LOVE negative space manicure, there's just something really chic and modern about it. I have tried doing it for a couple of times but have never been really pleased with the result. I am really pleased with how this one came out though. I had issues with colours bleeding everywhere, but nothing a  little bit of nail polish remover and thin flat brush can't do.

The Spring Appropriate Ombré

It has been a very long time since the last time I create an ombré mani. I find ombré manicure is the easiest and a never fail to impress kind of mani, but the whole cleaning up process is just nightmare. Anyway, I am back with one and this time I'm using some bright colours that are appropriate for spring. Yes! Spring is almost here and I'm really excited and the weather is getting warmer now actually.

Marc Jacobs' Animals Inspired Nail Art

Today I finally decided to sit down and did a nail art that I've been thinking about doing like 2 months ago. Inspired from Marc Jacobs animals collection (is that what they're called? let me know). Oh they are super adorable!

John Green Nail Art

First of all, no I am not dead. I've just been busy lately and haven't really got time to blog. Not a good excuse but let's get down to business.

John Green is like one of my favourite authors at the moment and I find his book covers are just adorable. Also, I am excited for the release of The Fault in Our Stars movie later this year. So I just know I have to make a mani inspired by it. My index finger is The fault in Our Stars, middle finger is Paper Towns (which I am reading at the moment), ring finger is An Abundance of Katherine, pinky finger is Looking for Alaska.

Oh remember the OPI matte top coat I used in my previous post? Yeah that one. I said I love it because it just gives the most matte effect. Well it is, but the only issue is that it is so draggy and will definetely ruin your design. So just in case you want to try it out, make sure your mani is completely dry beforehand. I have to redo my pinky finger and touch-up my ring finger because of it. So what I did is apply fast dry top coat first and then apply my matte top coat.

So what do you think?

Pastel Egg Nails for Easter

Happy Easter everyone!

There's something about pastel nail polishes and matte top coat. They just pair beautifully! For this easter-themed mani I add some splatter of grey acrylic paint on top of each nails to resembles the look of easter egg. By the way, the O.P.I Matte Top Coat that I  used for this mani is just amazing! I've tried some matte nail polishes and top coats that doesn't leave my nails as matte as I'd like them to be. Thumbs up for this one!

These are polishes used for this mani. Beautiful aren't they?

NOTD: Revlon Perfumerie Collection in Beachy

I went to Target yesterday and they have the best promotion going on. Revlon nail polishes 2 for the price of 1!!!! So of course I have to get it. Now, scented nail polishes are not new in the beauty world, for some reason I have never been interested in purchasing one; I think they are disgusting. However, this one is an exception. Firstly, look at the packaging! It's super cute. When I first saw it I thought it is a real perfume. Secondly, they have a nice selection of colours. Third, the scent is just... different. It ranges from sweets & spices, fruits & florals to fresh.

Anyway, I got this colour called 'Beachy', it is a pretty bronzy gold colour and I have nothing like this in my collection. I am a big fan of a big fanned out brushes, as my nails are quite big so fatter brushes really helps. However, this one comes with a skinny brush, so I am quite disappointed. The polish itself is more on the watery side. However, for this polish I think the combo of skinny brush and watery polish is what makes this polish very easy to apply. I did this mani last night with poor lightning, woke up and I was like 'wow, my nails look good!' Pigmentation is very good. I wear two coats for pictures above. Drying time is pretty quick as well, for this mani I don't wear any fast-drying topcoat and it only needs around 30 minutes to dry completely. My only issues with this polish is bubbling, it's not too apparent though, so it's just a minor issues for me. You can see it the bubbling issue on my second picture especially on my pinky finger.

Scent wise, this polish is in the 'fresh' group. Sniffing the polish straight from the bottle is a bad idea, I actually think it smells more chemical-y than my other polishes. As stated by revlon the scents can only be revealed when polish is dry. I wear no top coat because when you do I think the smell won't be so apparent. After it's dry the scent is faint ( but you know it's there. It smells sweet, fresh and very summery. I have to literally sniff my nails in order to smell it, and now I am sniffing my nails because it smells so good.

So if you think by wearing this polish, you don't have to wear any perfume because your whole body will smell good, definitely no. In order to smell any, you have to really sniff your nails. If you're like me who can't bear very strong scent this is definitely worth trying.

Overall, I think you should give this one a go. Despite the fact that you like the added perfume or not, this is a very good quality polish. I can't give you my overall thoughts on this collection, because I only have two of this polishes. A review for the other one coming soon, so stay tuned. However, I really like this polish. So the question is, is it worth checking out? Definitely YES!

What are your thoughts on this one? Do you have it? Do you like it as much as I do? Will you get it after reading this?

Essie Maximillian Strasse-Her with Gold Foils

Hi guys! Today I have a simple nail art for you. It is Essie's Maximillian Strasse-Her with some gold foils. I always love putting gold foils on my nails, it really gives an extra something something to the nails. It just looks gorgeous, especially with the added matte effect.

To achieve this look, first I apply two coats of Essie Maximillian Strasse-Her. It is important when doing your second coat, do one nails at a time. Before it dries apply gold flakes to your nails with fan brush. Don't forget to apply topcoat. I like to use two coats of topcoat as well as it might get a little bumpy.

So what do you guys think? Do you like a simple and effortless nail art?

NOTD: Picture Polish 'Vegas'

So today I have another sexy polish by Picture Polish. Last post I mentioned Voodoo which is a maroon jelly with micro gold glitter. Vegas is actually quite similar with Voodoo. It is a bright red with micro gold glitter. It is beautiful. I put it on because well, today is Chinese New Year and it is just appropriate to wear something red and golden. Even though after I applied it, this colour should be perfect for christmas as well.

I got this one a few months ago from a giveaway Picture Polish hosted on Instagram. When it arrived, I thought I wouldn't like it. I was never a big fan of red to begin with. But hey, after I applied it, damn it is beautiful! As with all Picture Polish polishes I love the formula. It applies nicely and easily also it has a reasonable drying time which is very important to me.

Anyway, what do you guys think?

What's on My Nails: Picture Polish Voodoo

Hey guys! So today I want to share a beautiful polish from Picture Polish which is called Voodoo. Now this polish has been around for quite a while before I swatch it so I won't bother you much with my thoughts; you'd find a lot of reviews online. All I have to say is well I have to agree with most reviewers out there that I like this polish. Now let's jump to the swatch shall we?

IMG_4171

So this is the bad boy we're talking about today. As you can see, it is a maroon jelly polish with micro gold glitter in it. To be honest, I am not that impressed with how the colours look like from the bottle. But don't judge a book by its cover right? After I put it on.... I LOVE IT! It is stunning! This one will be perfect for fall. Also, is it just me? this colour reminds me a lot of the movie The Great Gatsby, oh those glorious 1920's.

This polish is that gorgeous, I can't take my eyes off my nails. It is so pretty and it looks luxurious and expensive. What do you guys think?

Polkadot and Matte Stripes

So I was trying out one of Sally Hansen's new nail polish line which is the Triple Shine ones. They are absolutely beautiful! When I first spot them I knew I need to get at least one of these. I like the packaging so much. The polish itself is really nice. Anyways, I won't bother you with the reviews. These polishes came out here like few months after I saw it first came out in the US. Therefore, there will be already a lot of reviews around the web.

This design is actually inspired from a bra. I really want to pose with it but hey, it will be very awkward and well... that bra has seen better days. Anyways I combine teal, black and matte top coat polishes for this design hope you like it.

Anyways, I just made a bloglovin account please take a minute and follow me there. Thanks

Toast Mani

I haven't post something for such a long time! So what I'm going to post some nail art I did about a month ago. I haven't post any because well, my phone is being weird and I keep all of my nail art photos there. I am learning how to use the camera, but no luck until now it looks worse than using my phone.

IMG_4128

So the theme is toast mani and anything possible as  a topping. Got the inspiration while I was washing dishes and I was like hey, let's do this.

Anyway, I just bought the white polish from OPI it is called "Alpine Snow". I was like seriously? took me this long to grab this one? It is amazing, super easy to apply and no bald patches and all good stuff. I had serious problem with white polishes before they are just the hardest to work with.

So, what do you think of this mani?

Victoria Secret Fashion Show Inspired Mani

Hey guys! I'm finally back, I could finally paint my nails again. I did this one about a week ago but had no time to post it here. Anyway, this mani is inspired from 2013 Victoria Secret fashion show, this is inspired from the 'Pink Network' part of the show. It basically consists of everything social media related from emoticons, abbreviations and of course COLOURS!

IMG_3906 IMG_3907

IMG_3913

To be honest, this year's VS show is the first ever show I ever watched. I thought fashion show is boring. However, after watching it I feel super inspired. To create this mani I watched it for like 5 times or more.

Anyways, what do you guys think?

NOTD: Alice in Wonderland Mani

Hey everyone! Today's mani is inspired from this cute pen I bought on eBay. I never actually bought a cute looking pen. I find that they are a complete waste of money. Usually they have a crappy quality and is not comfortable to write with. But I am in super in love with this pen and I just knew I have to get it! If you are interested with this pen, just search for 'Alice in Wonderland ballpoint pen' on eBay. I forgot from which seller I got this from and items on eBay just come and go, so...

The pen is super adorable right? It has two colour black and blue. I am already inspired to recreate this pen on my nails for so long, but since I blended my nails like 2 months ago, I decided to wait until my nails are grown to finally do this.

Anyways, what do you guys think?

Leave me a comment, like this post and don't forget to follow! Thanks

Inspired by Burberry Brit's Scarf

Hi Guys, I did this one quite a while ago but I forgot to put it in the blog. I like this mani, I think it is simple but effective. I really like to use that sentence. The design is inspired from Burberry Brit's scarf. OOH if only I have the budget I'd really like to get that scarf!!! Can't afford it, but can recreate it on my tips :D

What do you guys think?

Revlon Chroma Chameleon in Amethyst

Hi Guys! I just went shopping today, there's a 40% discount in Priceline for ALL COSMETICS! How can I resist? Bought a few things including this polish! It's so pretty and swatch this one right away! Okay there are a few other colours in this collection by Revlon but only this one caught my eye.

It's Revlon's Chroma Chameleon in Amethyst y'all! This one is truly a chameleon! It's a duochrome of purple and blue and green. I adore this one and I regret nothing! Application is easy and shown is three thin coats.

Lace and Jelly Red

IMG_3727

Hi Guys! I'm so excited I finally finished my final exam and that means more time for my nails.

Anyway today I have a simple red mani featuring some lacey details. It is simple and I think it's effective.

The polish I use is Picture Polish's 'Vampire', it is a beautiful red jelly polish and shown is three coats. I got this polish from their giveaway, I'm so excited to win five shades from them! I only manage to swatch one of the five shades but bear with me others are coming.

Despite the name, I find this polish is also perfect for christmas. This nail art is perfect for the festive season.

The lacey accent is from Kit Cosmetic's nail art strips, I featured them right here, give it a click and see what I have to say about nail strips.

Anyway, I hope you guys like this mani, don't forget to like and follow my blog!

OPI DS Magic

It's a little vintage nail polish post I guess. I reckon I put this polish as one of my all time favourite polishes, but I just forgot that I have this baby in my collection. And I feel bad... This polish is too beautiful to be neglected

Image

This is OPI Ds Magic, they are slightly more expensive than regular OPI polishes but I can't complain. This is too beautiful.

NOTD: Lime Crime Pastelchio and Sally Hansen Fuzz-Sea Combo

Hey Everyone! So nothing new today. I did feature these polishes before here and here. So I do not have to explain further about the beauty of these babies. So what I did today is combine both of them together. The result? Something very bright and summery. I love it!

IMG_3665

Excuse my index finger, I accidentally hit a blender but it got better now and I can paint it YAY! I've been posting pictures of my right hand, but that won't do for now because my right hand cuticles have been super dry! I think mainly because I use too much cuticle remover. Not good!

Anyway, I finally got a chance to try my Lime Crime and I am excited about it. Previously I use it as an ombre so I'm not really sure about the application. So here goes, well it's not a bad polish, but I don't think this is the easiest polish to work with in my opinion. It's a little too thick for my likings I have to thin it with some nail polish thinner. Is it only me? Because I read other reviews, they say this polish is perfect. But other than that, I seriously love this polish. I like the brush. I really like the colour. Don't you think a bright pastel is super cool? Picture is three coats.

As for the topper, Sally Hansen Fuzzy Coat in Fuzz-Sea. I usually wear this on its own and I've been looking for a perfect base for it and the perfect match has always been in my stash all along! How did I miss this?

Anyway, what do you guys think?

NOTD: Sally Hansen Fuzzy Coat in Tight Knit

I am crazy about Sally Hansen Fuzzy Coat range! I think they are so amazing! Super pretty, easy to work with and also affordable. Every time I wear it people would go "ooh I love your nails! Are those real nails?" I did a review about it here and you should check it out! What started from two fuzzy coat grew to four fuzzy coat and in the future I might get the whole range.

IMG_3596

IMG_3611

The shade I'm wearing is Tight Knit, an explosion of matte blue and white bar. It is beautiful, it looks totally high fashion over black. I think it looks expensive. Formula is great just like any other Sally Hansen polishes. It is super easy to apply. Note that when applying glitter topcoat do not swipe your brush! Simply dab it on your nails.

I prefer layering fuzzy coat over another colour. Why? The only problem with fuzzy coat is that it takes almost forever to dry and to get full opacity you need at least three coats and after that you will see your nails will become so much thicker. I am not one of those patient person that can wait until my nails are totally dry, I love nail polish but I'm just not that person who like to sit still and wait until it dries. Which is why a good fast drying topcoat is a must for me! That's the only downside but apart from that, this is amazing! Go to your nearest drugstore now and definitely try them out if you haven't.
