Blue Me Away

Blue Ombre Nails

Last time I checked, blue creme polishes dominate my stash and knowing that I still cannot stop buying them. What can I say? I love blues! So I decided to create an ombre nails from purply blue to minty blue. I absolutely love the way it came out. Oh I also take it up a notch by adding O.P.I Matte Top Coat.

Polish used (pinky-thumb): Essence absolutely blue, Essie Rock the Boat, Essie Mint Candy Apple, Picture Polish Tiffany, Essie Turquoise and Caicos

Simple Mani

Hi Guys! Been such a long time. I seriously missing nail art, but nothing much I can do. If you remember that I broke my nails. It started to grow but yeah... not good enough for nail art. However, this simple mani is such a lifesaver, it looks so good and I got a lot of compliments with it. I posted a nail art before inspired by Madeline Poole and today's post is also inspired by her.

Personally, I prefer simple but effective nail art rather than intricate nail art with a lot of details. I mean to begin with, they were so difficult to make but I don't know there's this great feeling of satisfaction after I finished that intricate nail art. However, those intricate nail art is kinda boring for me, maybe within 1 or 2 days I will wipe it off, but with simple mani, it goes a long way. I wiped this off on the 4th day of wear. Hehehe still not that long compared to others tho!

I really like this look. It matches every outfit and I think it is great for every season. It is very easy, all you need is just a sheer polish and some nail art striping tape (they were so cheap on ebay!).

So what's your take on this mani? Do you prefer simpler mani or intricate nail art?

Using Loose Glitter on Nails

Have you guys tried using loose glitter on your nails? Image

It's super fun to use loose glitter on your nails. Simply because they are much cheaper than regular polish; I got mine from a local craft store for only 99 cents. For this mani, I hand placed them randomly on my nails. I use small dotting tool to pick up the glitter and place it on my nails and sandwich it with a natural coloured jelly polish.

Well, in terms of application, definitely regular glitter polish is easier to work with but yeah I just love trying something new. If you guys want try do a DIY glitter polish by mixing glitter and clear polish, you can, but personally I don't really recommend doing that.

Once I tried to make gold flake topcoat polish with clear polish and gold sheets I bought at a craft store. First they look fine. After an hour the gold flakes sort of sinks into the bottom and is super difficult to catch. After a few hours I have no idea why the polish turned green. It's helpless so I ended up throwing the whole thing away. So now if I want to have that gold flake effect, I have to hand place it just like I did with this one.
